The Philippine Army raised a requirement for improving its logistics support capability including movement of cargo within its camps.
This prompted the inclusion of the Forward Support Equipment Acquisition Project into the Philippine Army's Horizon 1 phase priority projects as part of the Revised AFP Modernization Program.
The project involves the acquisition of forklifts, and was among the last Horizon 1 projects of the Philippine Army to proceed.

OVERVIEW:
There are severe shortages of logistics support equipment in many of the Philippine Army's bases around the country, and majority of the forklifts and cargo handling equipment being used are very old and needs replacement.
The Philippine Army started the procurement of new forklifts subdivided into 2 models, one with a 2.5-ton capacity, and one with a 5-ton capacity.
For Lot 1 - 2.5-ton Forklifts, 46 units were eyed for procurement, while Lot 2 for 5-ton Forklifts, 15 units were planned.
These are small forklifts and are suitable for carrying crated packages, and can be operated on-road paved conditions.
The project was delayed due to prioritization of other projects, with the project actually part of the Horizon 1 phase covering years 2013 to 2017, but was only implemented in 2019-2020.
Based on the quantities, it appears that 3 2.5-ton and 1 5-ton forklifts would be assigned to each of the Army Support Command (ASCOM) Forward Service Support Units (FSSU).

20 November 2019:
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released a SARO dated 18 October 2019, to finance the Philippine Army's Forward Support Equipment Acquisition Project, releasing a total of Php62,470,000.00 for the project.
The amount is less than the project's Approved Budget for Contract (ABC) which is Php93,248,000.00, which means that the SARO covers the contract amount of the winning bidder, which is still unknown to us as of this posting.

25 June 2020:
It appears that the DBM has re-issued the SARO originally allocated for the Philippine Army's Forward Support Equipment Acquisition Project, as a new SARO was released dated 09 June 2020, and covers for the project.
MaxDefense Philippines sources confirmed that the winning proponent is Davao-based Jinyi Import & Export Trading Co., which specializes in supplying Chinese-made construction equipment and trucks.
It still remains to be seen what model will be supplied to the Philippine Army.

The 10th Forward Service Support Unit of the Army Support Command based in Mindanao has posted photos showing it receiving 2 of the FD25-LT 2.5-ton forklifts, and a FD50 5-ton forklift for its own use last January 2022.
This confirms that the Philippine Army has completed its test and inspection of the forklifts, and ASCOM has already accepted the forklifts for its use.
