27 June 2019:
The Department of National Defense (DND) has posted the Notice of Award (NOA) for the project, which was awarded to Spain's Explosivo Alaveses (EXPAL) Systems S.A for Php63,389,708.00 last 07 June 2019.

MaxDefense believes that a contract could have been signed between the DND and EXPAL Systems S.A. as of this writing, since normally it takes only less than 2 weeks before a contract is signed after NOA release for projects as small as this.
EXPAL is Spain's largest producer of 76mm naval gun munitions, and also produces other small, medium, and large caliber gun munitions for small arms up to howitzers and mortars.
Delivery is expected to be made within 240 calendar days from release of Notice to Proceed (NTP), which means that if the NTP was released by this week, the ammunition should be fully delivered to the Philippine Navy by late February 2020, just in time for the delivery of BRP Jose Rizal.
Just for further information, EXPAL Systems is said to be among those interested in supplying the Philippine Army's upcoming Mortar Acquisition Project for 60mm and 81mm mortars, and the Philippine Navy's upcoming Mortar Acquisition Project for the Philippine Marine Corps with 60mm, 81mm and 120mm mortars.
